1/GENERAL REGULATION Serveis
Integrals Subacuatics S. L. summons the 4th International Underwater Image
Festival. The contest are open to underwater video/cinema
recorders, underwater photographers, video-artists, film-makers,
plastic artists, multimedia, schools and producers. The Festival
takes place every year.
2/WORKS
The competitions will include different categories:
- "A GROUP" film * (professional productions,
broadcast quality, TV).
- "B GROUP" film* (amateur film makers, independant
producer).
- Colour Photogrpahs
- Blak and White Photogrphs. (B&W)
- "Young Photographer"(less than 25 years old
).
- Books (diving guides or guides about the underwater world,
manuals, underwater photography books, travel books or any genre
about underwater world theme ( they must include underwater pictures).
- CD-ROM (guides or interactives about the underwater world).
- Underwater painting (painting works about
the underwater world).
- Underwater sculpture ( sculpture works about
the underwater world).
- Underwater Web Site (the theme
of the site must refer to the underwater world).
- Immersion Miss.
"A GROUP" and "B GROUP" film
- Maximum length. "A GROUP" film , 1 hour.
- Maximum length "B GROUP" film, 20 minutes.
- Minimum of underwater shots: 50 %
Works presenting an interest in the underwater
world, even though they may not correspond with last rule, may
be accepted but only compete for the " Experimental Create
video Prize". This works must be about the underwater
world, they not must be done with underwater shots but they must
be done with water shots.
- Competition submission format : DVCAM, MINIDV,
DVD.
- Filming format : free (video, cinema)
Films should be accompanied by a synopsis, technichal
characteristics and lenght, and if it is possible a photo
of the author and of filming.
The photographs to Colour, B&W and "Young Photographer"
Categories - Set formats must be 30x45 cm. Photographs
must carry on the back, by tag, personal particulars of author.
Each competitor is allowed to present 5 photographs in each category.
And photographs must carry on the back , by tag, the technichal
characteristics ( type of camera -model-, flash type or strobe,
the deep where the photograph is taken and the film type...)
"Young Photographer" categorie
-the competitor must send a copy of D.N.I. or passport, he/she
must be younger than 25 years old. And photographs must carry
on the back , by tag, the technichal characteristics ( type of
camera -model-, flash type or strobe, the deep where the photograph
is taken and the film type). Set formats must be 30x45

The books- open to books published till the deadline of Festival. Send six copies of the books to the Festival adress with the registration form. This copies will not be returned. Every work presented must have underwater pictures.
The CD-ROM - guides or interactives about the underwater world published until the deadline of Festival registration. Send six copies of the CD-ROM to the Festival adress.This copies will not be returned. .
The Paintings - Send before a photograf of the painting, set format must be10x15 cm. Photographs must carry on the back the technichal characteristics and dimensions, a curriculum vitae and the contact dates of autor. When the pre-selection of this categorie is done, the organisation advise the competitor to send the works selectioned to the contest.
The Underwater sculpted works - Send before a photograf of the sculpture, set format must be10x15 cm. 5/ / The organisation will refuse all parcels generating duty on delivery. Please ensure this will not happen.
6/ The Organizing Committee undertakes to take very great care
of works but can in no way be held responsible for loss or damage
to the works during the Festival or in the mail. Participants
should therefore take out insurance if they think it necessary.
7/ Registration fees :
NOW YOUR REGISTRATION IS FREE.
8/ Competition entries must be made on the official Festival entry
form duly completed and signed. One form per work generating
a title. Photocopies accepted.
9/ The use of the same work in several categories is forbidden.
10/ The return of works. It will be taken during the sixty days since The Adwards' Presentation. The competitors must asked for the works to be given back previosuly. The organisation will refuse all parcels generating on delivery. This copies of books or cd-room will not be returned, also the awareds works ( painting and sculputura will be returned).
11/ The jury will do he pre-selection of works and will decide wich apply for the contest, the jury decisions will be final.
12/The ofifcial language of Festival- there will be official languages Catalan and Spanish. If tcompetitor presents a work in different Language, the author will send the typewritten text of work, in Catalan, Spanish or English. It is obaligatory to do it ( by e-mail or fax)
13/ Selection and Jury: The jury will select the inscribed works to determine the finalists who will form the Official Selection for the contest. A specialized Jury, it consists of professionals from several audio-visual fields, from underwater image, from multimedia's and computer graphics, and plastics artists, will choose the works of Official Selection to contest and the works which will proves pricewinning in the aforementioned categories and mentions.
- The report of Jury will unappelable, in any stage of judgement . The Jury will reserve the rigth to declare void one o some of awards, if they consider it appropriate.
14/ Works presenting an interest in the underwater world or underwater image, for the knowledge encouragement of underwater life or by its own characteristics, even though they may not correspond with the rules and regulations set forth, may be accepted by the preselection jury and compete for a special award.
15/ CALENDAR of FESTIVAL- The fourth edition celebtration
of Festival is planned in 2005 The competotors and public will
be informed in advance about its dates, place, calendar and programme.
The organisation will reserve the rigth to change the dates on
the basis of the chosen place activities or any other unexpected
occurs.
16/ THE AWARDS 'PRESENTATION - The Official Selection
of works to the contest will be put on show to the public before
or after the Ceremony of Awards' Presentation, at a house or hall
in Barcelona. The organisation will inform in advance about the
fixed date and place.
- The Ceremony of Awards' Presentation will be taken at a house
or hall with enough capacity , which fulfil the essential technical
requisits . The adwrds will be delivered, the photogrphs will
be put on show and the Official Selection of films to contest
will be project in a programmed showling or session.
-The organisation will fix the date, which will be tymely communicated
to the competitors and public. The organisation will reserve the
rigth to alter the programme or to change the date of celebration
on the basis of the chosen place activitiesor any other unexpected
occurs.
17/ PRIZES (AWARDS)
The prizes will consist of money diving material or others related eith the underwater activities. There are 10.000 euros in prizes, in all.
18/ Competitors agree to the use of their works by the Festival during non-profit-making promotional campaigns for underwater activities, the underwater image and our sea beds, and the own Festival. At each use of the works the name of the author will be mentioned but no payment for use of the copyright or retribution of any kind will be possible. No commercial use of the movies will be made by the organizers of the Festival. All individuals wishing to purchase one of the works will be put in contact with the producers and/or authors.
19/ The Organizing Committee will consider that, according to law, or any rules that control on the subject on copyright, all works presented are free and clear copyright (and royalties) and the exclusive property of the authors and are free of other rights which could have a third person. By their participation in the Festival, the authors undertake to guarantee the organizers against any claims that might be made against them. The Festival organizers may in no way whatsoever be held responsible in cases of dispute or litigation
20/ Participation in a contest entails acceptance of the above
regulations.
21/ All competitors are provided with two season ticket for
themselves.
